Sevilla come into the game on the back of a 2-0 home defeat to Atletico Madrid, already their fourth loss of the league campaign. In the Champions League they've only gained one point in their opening two games. Borussia Dortmund suffered a shock 3-2 loss to Koln on the weekend to add to their already mixed start to the season in the league. In Europe it has also been quite mixed as well, with one loss and one win, though it took a late Manchester City comeback to deny them the three points in their last game. These sides have met before, including in the 2020/21 Champions League Round of 16, which Dortmund came out from as 5-4 aggregate winners.
