Swindon Town won at Port Vale last time out and while the 3-1 scoreline already suggests a comfortable victory, based on the performance it could easily have been a cricket score for the promotion-chasers. The canny awareness of Jonny Williams, the direct movement of Harry McKirdy and the selfless physicality of Tyreece Simpson makes for a highly potent front-three. If Town can build on arguably their best performance of the season, as well as adding depth in two or three areas in the closing stages of the January window, then they have a wonderful chance of applying serious heat on the likes of Northampton and Tranmere in the top three. Bristol Rovers also won by a two-goal margin last time out, but in far less emphatic circumstances, with the Gas owing a debt of gratitude to goalkeeper James Belshaw for the 2-0 victory over Hartlepool.
