Bottom of the league table hosts top, as Dundee and Rangers are looking to put their most recent league fixture firmly behind them. For Dundee, it's bad enough losing the derby to United at Tannadice but a quarter-final loss to St Johnstone shortly after seems to add to the misery. The Dee's wait for a Tannadice victory and cup semi-final goes on, they haven't won over the road against United since 2004 or been to Hampden in a cup semi-final since 2006. And there are not many tougher tests, as they're in search of a first league win this season. For Rangers, the draw against Motherwell was an unfamiliar feeling. Not since March 2020, in a 1-0 defeat to Hamilton Accies, has an opposition team walked away from Govan with a point or all three after a perfect home record last season. Still top of the league, into the Premier Sports Cup semi-finals, there's surely more to come from this Rangers team given their exploits last season. Ultimately, Dundee have to win sooner rather than later and whilst it'd be ideal to claim that first victory here against the reigning champions, visitors Rangers should prove too strong. 0:2
