Real Betis continued their fine form last time out with a win over a Rayo Vallecano side who have been tough to beat this term. They did manage to blow a two-goal lead after Alex Moreno and Juanmi had put them ahead but Willian Jose tucked away a penalty to take all three points. With that, Betis have now lost just once in their last nine games across all competitions, and they will come into this one with spirits high, now fifth in the table after 10 games. Valencia, meanwhile, picked up a disappointing draw in rather pleasing circumstances last time out. Jose Bordalas' men drew 2-2 at home with Mallorca, but their goals, from Goncalo Guedes and Jose Luis Gaya, came as late as the 93rd and 98th minute. However, Valencia are now winless in their last six and that has put paid to their fine start to the season. Valencia will find it tough against a very organised Betis side, but they might just take a draw if they can frustrate the home side with their usual dark tactics.
