Robbie Neilson made three changes in personnel, along with a formation alteration, as Hearts recorded back-to-back league draws with a point in the Highlands after being held by Ross County 2-2 in Dingwall. Taylor Moore made his first Hearts start since signing on loan from Bristol City, in the absence of Michael Smith, as the Jambos resorted to a four man defence. It's unknown whether the Northern Irishman will be back from injury for this one. There was a first Hearts appearance for Cammy Devlin off the bench. Barrie McKay was handed his debut in the derby but was also in from the start against the Staggies, supporting Liam Boyce and the incoming Armand Gnanduillet in attack. David Martindale named three changes to the Livingston team that claimed their first league win of the season with a 1-0 home victory against Celtic before being knocked out of the Premier Sports Cup quarter-finals by Rangers in midweek. Odin Bailey and Cristian Montano came back into the starting eleven in Govan, alongside Stephane Omeonga making his Lions debut. Out dropped Ben Williamson (against his parent club), Jackson Longridge and Jack McMillan. Andrew Shinnie scored against Celtic and kept his place against Rangers as a lone striker. The former Hibs midfielder grabbed his first goal for the club with a great strike, that ultimately proved the difference against the Hoops at home.
