Watford were superb last weekend to beat fellow newly promoted side Norwich 3-1 away from home, with Ismaila Sarr running the show. Their fringe players then followed that up with a poor 3-1 defeat at home to Stoke in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday. Newcastle were not involved in the Carabao Cup in midweek so have had the full week to prepare after their 1-1 draw with Leeds last weekend. The Magpies are winless in six matches in all competitions this season and have failed to win any of their last four meetings with Watford.
