Burnley were blitzed by Everton at Goodison Park on Monday night, falling to a 3-1 loss on Merseyside. The Clarets have started the season poorly, picking up one point from their opening four matches. After three successive defeats to kick off the season, Arsenal secured their first league victory at Norwich's expense on Saturday. The Gunners have failed to win their last two trips to Turf Moor, however. Burnley won't make things easy for Arsenal on Saturday afternoon and a third successive draw between the pair at Turf Moor is possible. 1:1
Maxwel Cornet was an unused sub in Burnley's 3-1 loss at Everton on Monday night and fans will hope to see their big money summer arrival in action against Arsenal. Nathan Collins will be assessed, but Connor Roberts, Kevin Long and Dale Stephens miss the welcome of the Gunners. Aaron Ramsdale replaced Bernd Leno as goalkeeper for Arsenal in last week's 1-0 win over Norwich so there is no real need to change here. Mikel Arteta has confirmed Thomas Partey is pushing for his first start, which is timely given Mohamed Elneny is injured and Granit Xhaka is suspended. Ainsley Maitland-Niles will naturally hope to keep his place in midfield but Arteta may go for Partey's robustness against Burnley.
Burnley have seen under 2.5 goals in 8 of their last 9 home matches against Arsenal in all competitions. Burnley have lost 6 of their last 7 matches (Premier League). Arsenal are undefeated in 15 of their last 16 matches against Burnley in all competitions.
